Surprising photo of giant jellyfish in England
A photographer took beautiful photos of giant jellyfish in England while he and his grandson swam underwater.
The photo of a giant jellyfish many times larger than a boat makes many people both scared and excited
Steve Trewhella captured amazing images of giant jellyfish when he and his 10-year-old son were diving and surrounded by jellyfish many times the size of a human body off the coast of Dorset.
While the jellyfish that washed ashore last week were about 1.5 m long and nearly 1 m wide, the jellyfish photographed by Mr. Steve about 2 km from the beach were many times larger than the necklace. However, this animal is considered relatively harmless (can only cause mild itching), so the photographer and his nephew Finn Hatcher freely swam among thousands of jellyfish.
Jellyfish can only cause mild allergies, so the photographer and his nephew can swim comfortably
“At first we thought there were more than 100 jellyfish around us, but then I moved along the shore and noticed hundreds more. I can’t count how many jellyfish there are there, but there must be at least tens of thousands,” he said.
This year, a record number of giant jellyfish washed up on the southwest coast of England. The 51-year-old photographer said that in more than 30 years of underwater photography, he had never seen so many jellyfish appearing at the same time. He estimates that within 2km of the Dorset coast there are thousands of colorful animals, eating plankton and weighing up to 50kg.
