Lauren Koslow Returns to Y&R: “It Felt Like Coming Home”
Lauren Koslow, best known as Kate on Days of Our Lives, is back in Genoa City — this time stepping into the role of Jill Abbott for a multi-episode arc while Jess Walton is away. For Koslow, the return to The Young and the Restless wasn’t just another soap gig; it was a full-circle moment.

From Lindsey Wells to Jill Abbott
Before her long tenure on DAYS, Koslow played Lindsey Wells on Y&R, an ex of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) whose scheming briefly shook the couple’s world. After that storyline concluded, she went on to B&B and then made her mark as Kate on DAYS for decades.

Now, stepping into Walton’s shoes as Jill, Koslow returned to her roots. “When Josh Griffith first asked me, I told him, ‘This would be so amazing because for me, it would be totally full-circle,’” she shared. “My first job has a special place in my heart. It started my whole relationship with the Bells.” Koslow described the experience as joyous and nostalgic, bringing back memories from her earliest days in Genoa City.
Reuniting With Former Co-Star Billy Flynn
Adding to the excitement, Koslow reunited with former DAYS co-star Billy Flynn (Chad), who plays Cane Ashby on Y&R. On DAYS, Kate became a mother figure to Flynn’s Chad, and now as Jill, Koslow is once again stepping into a maternal role — this time trying to ease the tension between Cane and Billy Abbott.
Jill Abbott Faces Family Tensions
Jill’s return isn’t just a cameo; it carries serious story weight. The Abbott matriarch confronts long-standing issues with her son Billy, whose obsession with Chancellor Industries has strained their relationship for years. Even with Billy claiming his priorities have shifted to Sally and family life, Jill isn’t convinced. Her honesty about his impulsive patterns and inability to manage responsibility is a catalyst for tension, setting the stage for conflict in the Abbott household.

Koslow’s portrayal is giving fans a fresh take on Jill while staying true to the character’s core: a strong, strategic, and sometimes uncompromising matriarch whose words carry weight in Genoa City.
A Meaningful Return
For Koslow, this stint is more than just filling in — it’s revisiting a world that helped launch her career. Between the nostalgia, the reunion with Flynn, and the drama Jill brings to the Abbott family, her return promises a memorable chapter for longtime fans.
