Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati appears to have already made a decision on his future

Brighton loanee Ansu Fati is determined to return to Barcelona next season and revive his career with the LaLiga giants, according to reports in Spain.

The 21-year-old burst onto the scene in the 2019-20 season, making 24 appearances and scoring seven goals.

But injuries wreaked havoc on his development and the minutes began to dry up, which saw him fall down the pecking order at the Nou Camp, resulting in his season-long loan move last summer.

Fati has made a solid start to life with the Seagulls, notching a couple of Premier League goals from his eight outings and according to Diario Sport, he is set on taking that improved form back with him to Catalunya.

The outlet report that the winger remains convinced of his part in Xavi‘s plans in subsequent seasons but is solely focussed on ensuring he earns a place in Spain’s squad for next summer’s European Championships.

Ansu Fati has improved his form in recent weeks after a slow start to life in the Premier League

According to reports Fati remains convinced of his place in Xavi’s plans for Barcelona

Fati’s departure has afforded more opportunities for 16-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal to feature on the left and right of the Barcelona attack

Fati has played just six times for La Roja in the past three years, having made his debut as a 17-year-old and becoming his country’s youngest player since 1936 when he featured against Germany in September 2020.

He would then add to his list of records with his goal against Ukraine which earned him the honour of becoming Spain’s youngest ever goalscorer.

Since then the likes of Barcelona youngsters Pedri, Gavi and Lamine Yamal have followed his trailblazing path, besting his accomplishments and casting doubt on his future with the Blaugrana and the national team.

After making a slow start at the Amex, Fati can stake a claim for inclusion in Luis De La Fuente’s squad and a return to the LaLiga giants with continued output for Roberto De Zerbi’s outfit.

However, Brighton have struggled in recent weeks and have failed to win any of their last six Premier League games with their only victories during that period coming against Ajax in the Europa League.

In that most recent clash, Fati was the star of the show with a goal and assist in Amsterdam, helping the Seagulls to a well-deserved 2-0 win.
