Just weeks after filming began on Season 4 of The Boys, star Erin Moriarty is calling out fans for trolling her.
The 28-year-old actress plays Annie January, a.k.a. Starlight, in the hit Amazon Studios series, and she noticed a Medium article that addresses the trolling.
The New York City native admitted that the trolling has made her feel ‘silenced’ and ‘dehumanized’ as a result, thanking the article’s author (@butcherscanary) and revealing her thoughts in a heartfelt post.

The post included a few screengrabs from the article, entitled, ‘#IStandWithStarlight?: The betrayal of Erin Moriarty by The Boys ‘fans’.
The third season was essentially devoted to Starlight, showing how, ‘toxic masculinity crushes and controls women,’ though the article mentions that fans seemingly haven’t learned the lessons of that season.
Another passage adds that the harassment and trolling of Moriarty, ‘feels all the worse given the context of her role as Starlight on the show, a woman silenced and 𝑠e𝑥ualised, treated like a celebrity canvas for others to project onto rather than a human being with her own thoughts and feelings. But Annie is fictional, and Erin is not.’
