The talented youngster put in an impressive performance for England under-21s after an injury-hit campaign

Harvey Elliott’s girlfriend has revealed the sweet reason behind an accessory he wears on the pitch.

The Liverpool FC midfielder has been in a relationship with Emelia Scarlett since last year. The 19-year-old regularly shows support for Elliott on her Instagram page.

The talented youngster was hit with injury last season after he suffered a fractured dislocation of his left ankle. Elliott has since recovered from his injury and insisted his problems were behind him following a goal-scoring performance in the FA Cup fourth round in February.

The midfielder is currently on International duty for England U-21s and put in an impressive performance during a 5-0 win over Kosovo on Friday. Elliott registered two assists in the win and Emelia was gushing with pride following his superb display.

She also revealed on her Instagram Story how Elliott wears her hairband on his wrist when he plays.

Elliott took to his own Instagram profile to commend the team’s showing following the win. He said: “Great 3 points away in Kosovo, top performance from the team!”

England U-21s will continue their EURO qualifying campaign against Slovenia at the John Smith’s stadium tonight.
