Manchester City star Erling Haaland has embraced his inner Viking after returning to his native Norway to appear in a photoshoot.
Since moving to Man City, the 23-year-old forward has taken the Premier League by storm, helping Pep Guardiola’s side to an historic treble last term. And so far this season, the goals have continued to flow for the striker, who has scored eight goals in his opening six Premier League games this term.
At 6ft4in, Haaland cuts an imposing and striking figure, with his long blonde locks part of his signature Scandinavian look. And recently, Haaland returned home to Norway to take part in a Viking-esque photoshoot, complete with an axe, a sword and shield.
The stunning photoshoot saw the Man City star take a dip in a Norwegian fjord wearing full Viking get up. Haaland was then handed an axe and a shield to hold, posing with them whilst looking into the camera with an icy stare.
He was also spotted unsheathing a sword too, holding it up with the shield as well. On Instagram, photographer’s David Yarrow shared his work with Haaland, which included uploading a behind the scenes video where the striker could be seen smiling when not being asked to mysteriously pose for a photo.

The photoshoot, which initially saw Yarrow approach Haaland’s father Alfie, will see the pictures sold, with the money raised from them going to charity. The Times report they will cost £25,000-£30,000 each.
“It was a very bizarre and surreal experience, particularly when he is a foot taller than me, but we had a laugh and everything was done very quickly,” said Yarrow. “I can’t think of a better person to be dressed up as a Viking. It suits him perfectly.”
Haaland’s signature long blonde hair has become part of his trademark look
Right now, it should come as no surprise that Haaland is a name that plenty of brands and campaigns want associated with them. The Man City star is undoubtedly one of the most recognisable faces in the world at the moment.
He already has a mega endorsement deal with Nike, and recently became KSI and Logan Paul’s first sponsored footballer for their Prime hydration energy drink. With Lionel Messi having departed for the MLS, and Cristiano Ronaldo now playing his football out in the middle-east in Saudi Arabia, Haaland and Paris Saint Germain’s Kylian Mbappe look set to dominate European football.
