It’s back to Premier League action for Arsenal this weekend and Mikel Arteta’s squad will continue to be tested by the hectic schedule December brings.

The Gunners secured their spot in the Champions League knockout stages in midweek, hitting Lens for six. A trip to PSV Eindhoven awaits the north Londoners later this month, but for now, it’s full focus on the Premier League.

Arsenal welcome Wolves to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon looking to tick-off another game in their bid to win the league. Arteta’s side are currently top after last week’s win over Brentford and the festive period gives them the chance to extend that with three games in seven days.

Fortunately for Arteta, the Gunners have no brand new injury concerns. Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe are two players who will be hoping to make a return this side of the new year.

Partey was forced to undergo a ‘procedure’, football.london understands while Smith Rowe has continued to suffer with injuries, this time with a knee issue. And Arteta has provided an update on whether either could feature against Wolves.

“No,” he said when asked if there were any new concerns. “I don’t think we’re going to get anybody back still and we didn’t have any incidents so all good.”

Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira is also open having undergone an operation on a groin issue. “Yeah we’ve got a problem with him. He’s been having some discomfort,” Arteta confirmed.

“We sent him to see a specialist and the advice was to have an operation in his groin. He did that yesterday. We don’t expect him back this side of the winter break.”

Jurrien Timber remains out for Arsenal and will be aiming for a return before Euro 2024 next summer. His rehabilitation has been going well, football.london understands, but he is not expected back anytime soon.
