Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota took to Instagram recently to celebrate the birthday of his son, Dinis, who turned 1-year-old on February 8, 2022.
The 25-year-old Portuguese forward shared a picture of the one-year-old boy backing the camera as the child attempted to cut his birthday cake.
Diogo Jota who has been one of the most consistent players at Liverpool in recent times added a picture of himself celebrating a goal in the second slide. The picture originated from the FA Cup game between Liverpool and Cardiff City which took place on February 6, 2022.
In the picture, Jota raised a finger to celebrate a goal he scored in the 53rd minute of the FA Cup game which ended 3-1 in favor of Liverpool. The celebration was to mark his son’s birthday.
In the caption, the Portuguese football star who joined Liverpool on September 19, 2020, for a transfer fee worth €44.70 captioned the picture with: “Love you son”.

Not much is known about the extended family of Jota. The 25-year-old Portuguese striker started his own family in 2013 when he decided to start a relationship with Rute Cardoso.

Then, Diogo Jota was playing for the under-19 side of a Portuguese club, Paços Ferreira. Despite leaving Portugal to play for a Spanish side Atlético Madrid in 2016, and returning to Portugal to play for FC Porto on loan in the same year, the footballer kept his relationship with Rute Cardoso alive.
On July 25, 2017, Jota left Atletico Madrid for Wolves for a transfer fee worth €14 million. Despite that, he still kept his affair with Rute alive. On September 19, 2020, Jota made a dream move to Liverpool for a transfer fee worth €44.70 million.
At that point, the Portuguese footballer had already brought Rute to stay with him in England. Also, at the point Diogo Jota joined Liverpool, his lover was already heavily pregnant.
They welcomed their first and only child on February 8, 2021, when the coronavirus restriction in England was still in full force. They named him Dinis.

Diogo Jota has been fantastic in the Premier League so far this season. The absence of Liverpool’s forwards like Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane made him a more important figure at Anfield between January and the first week of February 2022.
So far this season, the Portuguese football star has played 22 Premier League games in which the football star scored 12 goals and provided an assist. While in all competitions, Diogo Jota has scored 17 goals and provided three assists in 30 games.
His performance at Liverpool has made most people believe that he could stand-in for either Salah or Mane if any of the two football stars decide to leave the club anytime soon.
The 25-year-old Portuguese forward has until June 30, 2025, before his contract with Liverpool expires.
