The BCSO confirmed that Star Grant was located the following day, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, accompanied by 28-year-old Devan Loving. The pair were found in a hotel room after a car linked to Star was spotted outside. Authorities did not disclose the nature of their relationship, but both individuals face charges of first-degree murder and felony conspiracy to commit murder. Star Grant is being charged as an adult alongside Loving.

Detectives traveled to Tennessee to interview the suspects, which led to their charges. Authorities have not yet disclosed a clear motive for the killings.

Previous Welfare Checks and Family Background

The investigation revealed that welfare checks had been requested for the Grant family on May 4 and May 6, but law enforcement officials did not find enough information to force entry into the home until the third check on May 7, when they discovered the bodies.

Reports from relatives indicated that Star had been involved with a man who bought her a burner phone to communicate secretly, and her father, Travis, had attempted to file a restraining order against the individual. It is not known if this individual was Devan Loving.
