The investiture kept the Prince close to home, where he lives with Kate Middleton and their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. This marked his second public engagement of the week, following a trip to Monaco and a solo outing prior to one of the most significant events on the royal calendar: Trooping the Colour.
On June 14, the royal family is expected to appear in full force at the traditional military parade in London, celebrating King Charles’ official birthday and serving as a family reunion. Continuing tradition, William will ride on horseback as Colonel of the Welsh Guards, alongside his aunt, Princess Anne, and uncle, Prince Edward. King Charles, 76, currently undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, will travel by carriage, following the precedent set by Queen Elizabeth II, who switched from riding to a coach at Trooping the Colour at age 60.
