However, on a more recent note, there seems to be bad news for fans, as insiders revealed rumors of the cancellation of Constantine 2. Despite informing fans in 2022 about proceeding with a sequel to the DC movie, Warner Bros now appears to have changed their plans. But is it true?
Keanu Reeves Commented on The Update of Constantine 2
Following the release of Keanu Reeves’ Constantine in 2005, fans had been hoping to see a sequel to the film. However, Warner Bros repeatedly refused the plan until 2022, when they announced their plans to proceed with a sequel story. Shocking fans with the announcement after nearly 20 years, the Studio refrained from making further comments on the project.

However, just like fans, even Keanu Reeves was super excited when he learned the news. Commenting on the development of the sequel, the actor expressed his gratitude towards Warner Bros. Excited to see the studio finally moving ahead with the story, despite previously refusing to do so, Reeves spoke with Total Film via Slashfilm.
Reeves was excited about Warner Bros coming up with Constantine sequel
“I kept asking almost every year. I’d be like, ‘Can I please?’ [and] they’d be like, ‘No, no!’ … “So it’s exciting. It’s almost like an open playground that we can hopefully cook something up and play in, and I guess get out of the playground and prepare a meal. But I’m looking forward to it, and hopefully, it can happen.”
But now there appears to be a change of plan as an industry insider revealed Warner Bros,’ might cancel the sequel.
Warner Bros Might Reportedly Cancel The Sequel
Despite previously announcing their desire to make Keanu Reeves’ Constantine sequel, Warner Bros now appears to have different plans. With a sudden turn of events, the Studio appears to have made an abrupt cancellation of Constantine 2. Although Warner Bros told EW that the sequel isn’t canceled, industry insider KC Walsh told otherwise.

In a now-deleted tweet, KC Walsh bluntly commented that “Constantine 2 is not happening.” Given how volatile Warner Bros has been over the years, with repeated cancellation of projects, it’s not shocking to learn that the Studio might actually be planning on abruptly stopping production.
Although it’s unconfirmed, fans are still upset with Warner Bros canceling Reeves’ sequel
“That was a movie they greenlit in desperation because they weren’t sure the direction of DC her and needed to have something post-2023,” Walsh explained on X.
However, on a recent note, director Francis Lawrence debunked the rumors of Warner Bros canceling Constantine 2, by sharing the film’s progress. Despite KC Walsh’s reports, the director’s confirmation has relieved fans as they have found hope to look forward to. Constantine 2 production is set to resume after the Thanksgiving holiday.
