Exceptional Nigerian lady graduates with 4.99/5.00 first-class, breaks university’s 63-year-old record

An Exceptional Nigerian lady named Vivian Urama has broken the 63-year-old record of the University of Nigeria (UNN), after scoring an outstanding 4.99/5.00 cumulative grade point average and emerged as the overall best-graduating student.

Vivian Urama bagged her her bachelor’s degree in Soil Science with the highest grade point average which made her the overall best student of her graduating set. She made history as the first-ever student to score a 4.99 cumulative grade point since the inception of the school in 1960.

She did not only win the award of the best graduating student, she also won six different awards for her excellent performance. Speaking in an interview, Vivian said she was able to achieve success because she made reading an hobby and a way to acquire knowledge .

She mentioned that she chose to study Soil science because she wants to be a  problem solver on the issue of food scarcity in the world and also to understand how best to put soil into use and what management practices can be put in place to ensure maximum productivity.

Vivian’s excellent performance as a student also earned her a scholarship. She stated that it was one of her happiest moments as the scholarship awards made her realize that indeed there is a reward for excellence and it equally relieved her of financial burden.

She received the Faculty of Agriculture Alumni Association scholarship which she said sponsored her third-year fee, then the Chevron scholarship Award from the Funmi Omo Foundation, and the Indorama academic award.

Sharing her achievement on LinkedIn, Vivian said she feels privileged and honored to have won the award as the overall best-graduating student. She attributed the success to the support from her family and friends.

Vivian said she hopes to earn a scholarship based on her academic achievements to pursue her postgraduate studies. She dreams of contributing to the development of agriculture, specifically focusing on irrigation agriculture, water management, and sustainability.

Advising other students, Vivian stated that they should have confidence in themselves and believe in their abilities. He stated that if they believe that they can achieve something, they are more likely to succeed.
