⚡ Mom and 2 Kids Allegedly Abducted by Her Adult Son After Being Housed on a ‘Safety Plan’ — Son’s Lawyer Claims It Was a ‘Rescue’

According to a report from May 9, 2026, four arrests were made following the abduction of a woman and her two young children in Perinton, New York. Authorities issued an Amber alert after 54-year-old Mouna Omar Saleh Ali and her two children, ages 7 and 9, were reportedly kidnapped. The police located the victims unharmed later that evening in Rochester.

The investigation led to the arrests of Omar Saleh (30), the woman’s adult son, along with Gamil S. Ahmed (31) and Dajour L. Paul (26). Amar Abdullah Qasim Saleh, also a person of interest, was apprehended early Monday morning after the other suspects appeared in court. Reports indicate that the children were allegedly being abducted to be taken to Yemen, although the exact circumstances surrounding the “safety plan” under which they were kept remain unclear.

Omar Saleh’s attorney, however, argued that the case was not a kidnapping but a “rescue” attempt, although he later walked back this statement. Despite this defense, Omar, Ahmed, and Paul were charged with second-degree kidnapping. The three suspects are scheduled to return to court on Friday, May 12, 2026 .
