The Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers from the Packers in exchange for draft picks just ahead of the NFL Draft.
The New York Jets recently acquired Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a bunch of draft picks. Rodgers had an average season in Green Bay last season but many people, including the Fox Sports analyst LeSean McCoy, believe the NY Jets are getting a different and a better version of Rodgers as compared to the Packers.
“To see A-Rod now with the Jets, the way he’s responding, for example, going to OTAs,” said McCoy during the recent episode of the Fox Sports show Speak. “For some reason now he’s been a part of OTAs and mini camps. He’s hanging out with the guys at basketball games at different arenas like hanging and having fun with them. All that type of chemistry is big.”
“I think Aaron Rodgers is in a place, he’s in a team that wants him there,” said McCoy. “Now for the Jets, It’s all about Aaron Rodgers and I think, he plays best when he has that type of pressure on him.”
As the former Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy mentioned, Rodgers has been hanging out with his new teammates a lot ever since he got officially traded to the Jets. Moreover, unlike the previous few off-seasons, Rodgers has been fully focused on developing his game during this 2023 off-season.
Rodgers’ trade saga was a big story at the beginning of the NFL free agency. But ever since he got traded to the Jets in April, he has been fully committed to building chemistry with his new teammates on and off the football field.

Rodgers joining the Jets had some mixed reactions around the league. While many people think that the veteran quarterback could lead the young and talented core of the New York-based football team to Super Bowl glory, others believe that Rodgers is too old to play at a high level with a new team.

Rodgers’ move to a new conference at this stage of his career has led to some comparisons with Tom Brady‘s move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2020.
The Jets fans believe Rodgers can repeat the success of Brady, but unlike the 15-time Pro Bowl QB, Rodgers is moving to a tougher division and a tougher conference. The 39-year-old signal-caller potentially has 2 years to add another Super Bowl ring to his resume. But for the 2023 season, the Jets fans are hoping for at least a playoff appearance under Rodgers.
