Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, only wears a gray T-shirt to work; His daughter thought he was a rancher when she saw him raising cows with beer and macadamia nuts in Hawaii…Mark Zuckerberg feeds cows with beer
Billionaire Zuckerberg owns a large farm on the Hawaiian Islands and added cattle raising to his list of hobbies last year. On the Morning Brew Daily podcast last week, he talked about his unique way of raising cows.
He believes that cows drink beer and eat macadamia nuts – the two “most nutritionally dense” foods, helping cows gain weight quickly while still maintaining flavor and giving the best quality meat. Common farms cannot apply this method due to cost constraints. “I’m not commercial and just want to create high-quality meat,” he said.
CEO Meta currently focuses on raising famous cattle breeds wagyu and angus. “If you could choose, what would you like to eat the most? Basically beer and nuts. Everyone knows beer creates appetite and nuts contain a lot of nutrition,” he said.
In an Instagram post in January, boss Meta also estimated that each cow consumes from 2 to 4.5 tons of food per year. His daughters are helping plant macadamia trees and he considers this one of the most exciting projects he has ever pursued.

Animal husbandry is one of Zuckerberg’s new hobbies, besides practicing MMA or surfing. In the podcast Morning Brew Daily, CEO Meta said his daughter even thought he was a rancher.
“If you’re like a child, like my daughter, in your head you won’t just associate me with Meta,” Zuckerberg said. “There was a time when my daughter just thought I was a cattle rancher.” His daughter supports her father’s life as a farmer, and Zuckerberg aims to produce some of the highest quality meat in the world.
In addition to the farm, CEO Meta also owns a complex worth more than $270 million on Kauai, the oldest island in Hawaii. According to Business Insider, construction experts evaluate this cost as one of the “largest in history” for a private project and can be compared to many large military projects.
Mark Zuckerberg’s land is about 566 hectares, tightly protected with many security guards and a 1.8 meter high stone fence. He kept his assets secret by forcing construction workers to sign confidentiality contracts. The project has a minimum of 30 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, along with an underground shelter and two central mansions connected by tunnels, surrounded by a network of 11 tree houses. Amenities include gym, swimming pool, tennis court. Not only a resort, the complex also serves as a corporate event venue.
During the acquisition of a huge land plot, CEO Meta encountered many protests from local residents due to construction noise and concerns about natural destruction. The call to “stop Zuckerberg from invading Kauai” received more than one million signatures in 2020. However, he affirmed that the real estate buying process is fair, and has a plan to preserve the dynamic ecosystem. Wild plants on the island.
Currently, Zuckerberg and his wife are also one of the individuals who donate the most to Hawaii. In 2021, he sent 4 million USD to the fund to support cultural activities of indigenous people. The Chan Zuckerberg Foundation also awarded more than $20 million to local nonprofit organizations since 2018.
