FORMER KINDERGARTEN TEACHER PLEADS GUILTY TO FELONY CHILD SEDUCTION IN INDIANA

Indianapolis, IN — Torrie Lemon, 24, a former kindergarten teacher at Colonial Christian School, has pleaded guilty to one count of felony child seduction after engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student.

According to court documents, Lemon was sentenced to 40 days of a four-year sentence, having already served 30 days from April 16 to May 14 and earned 10 days of good time credit. After her jail time, she will serve 1,420 days of probation.

Lemon, who served as a chaperone, admitted to the police that the sexual relationship had been ongoing for roughly two months, evolving from friendship to physical intimacy, including hugging, kissing, and sexual conduct at her apartment, on school grounds, and at the victim’s home.

The school immediately placed Lemon on leave and reported the misconduct to the Indiana Department of Child Services and police. Her employment was terminated. Lemon also faces two additional child seduction charges in neighboring Marion County.

The case highlights the ongoing scrutiny of educator conduct and the importance of prompt reporting and investigation when minors may be at risk.
